After our presentation over French ecomony and Algerian economy a feeling of relief swept over me. Through this whole experience I learned more about two different groups of people trying to live together and make ends meet. It made me realize just how lucky I am and how lucky I have been. The numbers shocked me and I couldn't believe just how little third generation Algerian immigrants were making in a well-developed first world country. They had to live life with next to nothing. I wouldn't goes as far as this whole class assignment made me look at the world differently or not through my rose colored American glasses, but it did change my outlook on how citizens of a country can and could really careless about their other citizens.

Our topic for forum dealt with France and their immigration policy and issues. I'm going to be honest at first I wasn't too happy. I was being selfish and didn't want to learn about anyone else's immigration policies because I was too concerned with what was happening here in the United States and in my little bubble. However, I decided that I needed to grow up and so here I am posting about my groups topic and how we are going to go about delivering the facts we found to the class as a whole. We are suppose to look that the economic theories and realities. More specifally we are to look at the divison of labor, distrubtion of goods and services, unemployment, and distrubition of wealth. We have the honor of presenting our topic to the rest of the class on October 4 and 11. I need to finish looking up research and becoming a more rounded person in the area of immigration, alienation, and social stratification. My group is trying to understand how the issues of Immigration, Alienation, and Social Stratification were created in France. I'm excited to find out more information and expanding my horizons.
